             Identify and prioritize risks.

             Rank your priorities:

                   What needs to be back up and running within minutes or hours?

                   What can be down for 24 hours?

                   What could be down for a week or two weeks?

 

            Write it down….

             Do you have backup systems in place?

             Keep backups off site

             Figure out your biggest potential failures. Is it power, internet access, phone lines or your physical plant?

             Map out your network.  Know what is on it and where it is located.

             Know the systems running on your network.

             Write it down and let your staff know the plan.

Remember, keeping your fingers crossed is not enough when it comes to Disaster Recovery planning.
